THIS is about our educational system. It was observed recently, when census work was going on, that government teachers were engaged in census work. They were going door-to-door collecting information.

I object to this duty for teachers. There are two main reasons for it. First, teachers have given an honourable place in society and should be respected as they play a vital role in nation-building.

It is unfortunate that teachers should go from door to door to collect information. If teachers will perform such duties, who will then teach in schools?
