LAHORE: Punjab Kabaddi Championship will see its revival after a lapse of seven years when the event starts under lights at Punjab Stadium here on Wednesday.

Secretary of the Punjab Kabaddi Association Chaudhry Mohammad Ijaz said the event was being held with support from the Sports Board Punjab, adding nine divisions of the province will take part in the two-day event.

SBP’s director sports Anees Sheikh said kabaddi was included in the list of nine different disciplines chosen by the SBP for promotion of sports, adding all possible help was being provided to the organisers to hold the kabaddi event in a befitting manner.

The inter-school and inter-collegiate swimming championship were also being held at the newly-built swimming pool at the Nishtar Sports Complex on May 25, for which international coach Hafeez Bhatti would be making arrangements, Anees added.
