SIALKOT: The Sialkot Business and Trade Centre is likely to be functional in June. The centre, a venture of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Smeda, will work to promote trade and export activities in Sialkot.

This project was launched 2009 and due to paucity of funds, it took eight years to complete. According to SCCI President Majid Raza Bhutta, the centre is an eight-storey building which will have halls, display stalls, a convention centre, offices, a cafeteria, residential rooms, parking lot, a business facilitation centre, consultancy services and marketing services areas, a library and an information technology centre. Major exporters and industrialist said the project was the need of the Sialkot’s export-oriented industries.
