QUETTA: Four people, including a member of the Afghan parliament, were killed and five others suffered injuries in a bomb blast in the parking area of a hotel in Vesh Mandi in Afghanistan, near the Pakistan border, late on Tuesday night.

According to reports reaching Chaman from across the border, the parliamentarian Faizullah Adozai had just arrived at the hotel with his guards when the powerful explosion took place.

Mr Adozai, two guards escorting him and another man died on the spot. Those injured were taken to a hospital in Spin Boldak.

Mr Adozai was brother of Abdul Razzaq, police chief of Kandahar.

Vesh Mandi is a business hub of Afghanistan.
