Volleyball coach due

ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: Bulgarian coach Ivan Stefanov is arriving in Islamabad on Tuesday, secretary of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), Muhammad Afzal said on Friday.

Stefanov, who has previously coached Pakistani spikers, will take up his duties with the national team that is preparing at the Liaquat Gymnasium for the forthcoming Asian Senior Championship.

The coach will be in Pakistan for four to five months and may stay on even longer, Afzal said.

The national players have a busy period ahead with the Sept 5 to 12 Asian Championship in Beijing being followed by the Al-Rashid Tournament in Dubai the same month.

The team would then appear in the Prime Minister Gold Cup International tournament at home in October and then feature in an event in Kuwait later that month.
