Savings schemes

Published April 29, 2017

THIS is apropos Brig (r) Gul-i-Rana’s letter ‘Govt savings schemes’ (April 28), highlighting the plight of retired citizens, in general, and senior citizens, in particular, on the miserably low profit on Behbood Scheme and others, falling below 7.8pc, and demanding at least 15pc profit.

This shows that government functionaries have no sympathy for senior and retired citizens, who are in the the last stage of life, but the profit on their hard-earned savings is continuously slashed too.

This is the only source of their livelihood while an unprecedented inflation reigns.
