RAWALPINDI: After completing house listing, enumerators on Friday started headcount from the house of Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal who gave details to the census team led by Assistant Commissioner Tasleem Ali Khan.

The census teams with each consisting of three members--enumerator, army and police personnel --will visit door-to-door in the district and get information about the family members from each house. District Rawalpindi had been divided into 12 sectors, 4509 blocks and 553 circles. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal expressed the hope that with the cooperation of the people and the district administration the census would be completed by May 25.

He said that the census teams’ work was being monitored, besides providing them support. He said that the local residents had been requested to help the teams as it was a national duty to provide all the necessary details.

He said that security arrangements had been made by the local police and other law enforcement agencies and the work would continue without any hurdle in coming days.
