THE management of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has not been giving any annual increment to its retirees in the pension for the last six years. Every year more than 8,000 retirees, including the very aged and the disabled, desparately wait for an increase in their pension.
On being disappointed by the management in this regard, the NBP retirees ahave approached, through these columns, the finance minister, as well as the prime minister, requesting them to look into the problem, but regrettably no action was taken by them also.
The absence of any increment in the pension amount over a long period is hurting the retirees. The present hike in utilities’ prices has put the retirees into a miserable condition. We, the retirees of the bank, once again appeal to the bank management to look into the matter, and release all the annual increments which have been stopped for the last many years.
