Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman said on Sunday that peace and stability in the world could only be established by strictly adhering to Islamic ideology.

Accompanied by Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Saleh Bin Muhammad Ibrahim on stage, Fazl said that Islam was the religion of peace and love and peace could only be established in world by strictly following the teaching of Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in a true spirit.

He was addressing a public gathering at the concluding ceremony of the JUI-F-sponsored three-day centenary celebrations in Azakhel, Nowshera.

He said that this historic congregation had passed the message of hope and peace in world and would remove a sense of deprivation among masses.

Fazl said Islam, being the religion of peace, had no place for terrorism, extremism and his party would continue the peaceful struggle in line with the vision of forefathers for the attainment of their goals.

“My party advocates for national unity, sects-free politics based on non-violence policy and will not allow anyone to sabotage atmosphere of interfaith harmony in Pakistan,” he remarked.

He said Islam was the most popular religion of the world, which could lead humanity towards lasting achievement of peace and harmony.

“Peace in the world can't be established unless we give rights to people on their resources, economic empowerment, social justice, ending deprivation of marginalised communities, poverty, hunger and speedy justice to all.”

Fazl suggested bilateral agreements for exploration of mineral resources, the adaptation of technological skills and enhancement of diplomatic relations with developed countries based on mutual respect.

“Politicians calling each others' thief or corrupt was not a dignified way of politics,” he said.

He claimed that JUI-F, after coming into power, would eliminate corruption and ensure good governance as they had shown during its regime in the past.

Fazl pointed out that Muslims subjected to brutal torture were being killed in Syria, Iraq, Libya, India-held Kashmir and Yemen.

Despite huge resources, the world powers had failed to establish peace in these regions, he said.

“The world should understand that whether we should give a peaceful or blood tinted future to the world.”

After the creation of United Nations, he said, people had pinned expectations from the world body for solutions of core issues but the issue of Palestine had not been addressed nor Kashmir which created disappointment in the world.

He said the world super power had failed to establish peace in Afghanistan and lasting peace in this war-torn country could only be established with the withdrawal of all foreign troops from there.

He said peace in Afghanistan could only be established through political means and negotiations with all the stakeholders on board.

Fazl said JUI-F desired a peaceful settlement of all issues with neighbouring countries, including India, through table talks.

He said every Pakistani had immeasurable love with Haramain Sharifain and would offer every sacrifice for its protection.

Fazl said China was our time-tested friend and we supported CPEC because it can change the destiny of the people in the region.

“Any decision about future of Fata should be made in line with wishes and aspirations of tribal people,” he added.
