Sindh police on Friday announced a Rs5 million reward for any help that leads to the arrest of the facilitators of the Sehwan suicide bomber, whom the police said they had identified through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the shrine.

Police said they had combed through footage from 38 on-site CCTV cameras from the day of the blast as well as the days leading up to it.

According to a press release issued by the police, the facilitators of the blast had visited the shrine along with the bomber on Feb 15, a day before the blast.

Photos of the facilitators have been sent to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) in order to expedite the process of gaining information on their identities and their eventual arrest, the press release said.

According to the press release, the images have also been shared with Rangers and other law enforcement agencies.

On Feb 23, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had constituted three different teams to apprehend the militants, their facilitators and those involved in carrying out reconnaissance for the bombing.

One of the three teams was sent to Punjab for arresting some people belonging to the banned Hizbut Tahrir who had been identified as facilitators of the man who blew himself up in the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine.

The second team was dispatched to Wadh and Jhal Magsi in Balochistan to trace some suspects who were in telephonic contact with those carrying out the attack.

The third team, of which the Rangers were also a part, was sent to Dadu, Shahdadkot, Jacobabad and Shikarpur for the arrest of those who took part in surveilling the area before the blast and had brought the suicide bomber to the shrine for carrying out the attack.
