CPEC & Dadu

Published March 31, 2017

THIS refers to the CPEC route. It was announced that from Multan to Rohri in Sukkur through Dadu it will enter Hyderabad then Karachi. Unfortunately, owing to some political influence, Dadu was excluded from the route and instead Nawabshah was included.

This is injustice with the people of Dadu as it is an important district and located at a location where there are several archaeological sights besides irrigation areas. It is believed that the route from Naushahro Feroze via Makhdoom Bilawal bypass (Dadu) through T.R. Khan, Lohi and the newly-constructed Bahria Town in Karachi, could decrease the distance between these towns and cities, which is 170 to 200km.

It will also provide local people access to national and international markets for their agricultural goods. Besides, the people of Dadu will get modern facilities. The prime minister and the Sindh government should review this decision.
