Great news. I wish humanity had never known politics!

Who says on Indians are making headway in the US. Pakistan rising. Expect some to be elected to the US House of Representatives and a Pakistani-American to be the US Ambassador to Pakistan in the next 5-10 years.

Yet another Pakistan-American in the news the same day. Great job guys! You are the only people outside of Pakistan, who are making the nation proud. While Pakistan itself is sliding ever deeper in debt, despair, lawlessness and corruption.

He is an American first, his lineage to Pakistan and his religion have nothing to do with his current job, his skills, capability, education and experience have played a part.

@TM - You are completely missing the point. His origins, heritage and roots are in Pakistan, no matter what he becomes in America or what he achieves rest of his life. That's why there are Indian-Americans, African-Americans, and Mexican-Americans in America. They are proud of their identity and not trying to hide their origins!

@Mahmood and others: Sure,this is his personal achievements only. No connection with Pakistan. Why Pakistanis take the efforts and achievements of Pakistanis abroad as their achievements? Some time they go beyond and make connections to their villages and cities to. Pakistanis in Pakistan are living in their funny dream world. Either it is London's mayor, previous police chief of London or Ali Javed do not compare them with your corrupt system.

@AZIZ - I guess in your dark and ignorant world, you probably never saw how Obama felt proud to be visiting the land of his father - Kenya. And how proud Kenyans felt to have him honor them, by uttering a few words of Sawahali - even though Obama was born in Hawaii of an American mother. So if someone like Obama saw the connection to his father's ancesteral homeland and was proud to talk about it. why would Pakistanis now feel proud of a man, born in Pakistan, who is gaining acclaim in America, and who himself is not shy about his own heritage? Those who hide their roots, must have some inherent insecurities and perhaps ashamed of their ethnicity? Feel sorry for them.

@AZIZ - Do you know that Malala Youseszai was recognized as brave Pakistani school girl who defied the Talibans, therefore awarded the Noble Prize? She didn't achieve that acclaim because she had moved to Britain, nor that she promoted and received by even the Queen, until after she had won the world acclaim. So, there is no way anyone to know what their destiny may be. If this guy achieved something in America, does not mean he could not have achieved something of equally or greater admiration and respect while he still lived in Pakistan. I don't know. But neither do you.

Pakistani Muslims are very happy when their kind make it in the western world. Are the same Pakistani Muslims willing to give Pakistan's Religious Minorities the same chanes of success and opportunities in Pakistan ?

@TM - He's a Human being first, before his ethnicity, culture, faith or heritage. We should be happy for him for achieving a distinction in his newly adopted country. His roots and origins come in second. No one I've met in America, is shy about their origins, since nearly everyone is an immigrant or a descendant of early settlers and pilgrims. You will meet people in Minnesota who proudly announce their Scandinavian background. Germans in Pennsylvania who don't hide the fact their parents or grandparents were farmers from Bavaria. Italians in Chicago, who celebrate their Italian culture despite two hundred old history of their arrival in America. Mexicans never shy away from their identity either. Regardless of who, what, from where or when they arrived, they are all recognized for their contributions to building a great nation. No one cares whether you are black or white, as long as you respect the laws, pay taxes and are productive citizen.

NYC's NYPD has a large number of American Pakistanis and Muslims doing an exceptional job of protecting the people of NYC. In fact a family friend is an NYPD Detective who's greatly admired by his dept and has won awards for outstanding dedication and perseverance in his role as team lead Investigator for solving countless complex crimes in his jurisdiction.

Congratulations to Sgt. Ali Javed who got appointed to this elite force because of his intellect and qualifications. Pakistanis should be proud if qualifications and capabilities are recognized which is not the case in Pakistan. This is a lesson for Pakistan to judge people based on qualities and qualification and not by religion, sect or national origin.
