LAHORE: A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her in-laws for ‘honour’ in Factory Area on Monday.

Police said Farzana, 25, a mother of one, had been running a beauty salon in Main Bazaar Colony, Chungi Amar Sadhu, for some time and her in-laws were annoyed with her about her business.

Police said on Monday morning victim’s father-in-law Mian Khan and brother-in-law Jibran went to the salon and exchanged harsh words with her.

They said the woman asked her in-laws to leave the salon to which they got enraged and allegedly started stabbing her with knives.

Police said the suspects slit the throat of the woman and managed their escape. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.Factory Area SHO Sub-Inspector Mumtaz Ali said they arrested the suspects who confessed to the murder.

Cantonment Division SP Rana Tahir Rehman said police were waiting for heirs of the woman to register the case under murder or honour killing sections.

ACCIDENT: A man was run over and killed by a speeding car in Kahna on Monday.

Police said an unidentified man in his 60s was crossing the road when a car hit him. He was pronounced dead at hospital. The driver managed his escape.

Police shifted the body for autopsy and started investigation.
