RAWALPINDI: More than 400 wardens will streamline traffic in the city on March 23 as Faizabad interchange will be closed from 5am to 2pm on the Parade Day.

The city traffic police on Tuesday issued a plan and asked people to follow it.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Yousuf Ali Shahid said 348 traffic wardens, 43 junior wardens, 21 inspectors and six DSPs would be deployed in the city.

According to the plan, traffic from Murree Road to Islamabad will be diverted to Cricket Stadium Road and then towards 9th Avenue while traffic from Islamabad to Rawalpindi coming from 9th Avenue would be diverted to I.J. Principal Road. It will take the route of New Katarian, Pindora Chungi and Railway Carriage Factory to reach Rawalpindi.

The CTO said traffic coming from Koral Chowk to Islamabad Expressway would reach Rawalpindi by using Khana Road, Sadiqabad, via Rawal Road, Block C Satellite Town, Cricket Stadium Road and 9th Avenue to reach Islamabad.

Entry of heavy traffic will be banned in Rawalpindi.
