LAHORE: Dr Fouzia Siddiqui has accused former ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani of getting her sister Dr Aafia Siddiqui implicated in a false case.

“Haqqani should tell the truth that Aafia Siddiqui is innocent and just to please Americans, he had her implicated in a false case,” Dr Fauzia told a press conference here on Sunday.

She said Haqqani should be awarded exemplary punishment. She said successive governments had missed several opportunities of repatriation of Aafia who is seriously ill.

Dr Fauzia further said if American spy Raymond Davis was allowed to flee Pakistan, why Aafia was not repatriated. “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had said that Aafia is like his own daughter and he would make efforts for her repatriation. Four years have passed but he has yet to fulfill his promise.”
