KOHAT: Unknown robbers barged into the general post office of Shakardarra town and took away nearly Rs1.7 million.

A police statement said that two armed dacoits climbed the boundary wall of the post office and locked the watchman inside a bathroom on Wednesday night. They broke the lockers and made away with Rs1.75 million cash.

The post master reported the incident on Thursday morning after which the police took into custody the watchman, Pir Badshah, on suspicion. They claimed that it was not possible that dacoits had struck in the bazaar without inside help. The police registered a case and have launched investigations.
