ONCE again, the lawyer community has been targeted by terrorists, this time in Charsadda. Three suicide bombers attacked the local courts in Khyber Pakhtunkawa in which at least six people, including a lawyer, were killed and more than 20 injured.

The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) faction Jamaatul Ahrar claimed the responsibility for the attack.

It was not the first attack by the Taliban in Charsadda on lawyers. Last year, in the same district, District Courts, Shabqadar, were targeted by terrorist in which 16 people were killed brutally.

The recent terrorist attack showed that once again our government and security agencies failed to provide protection to their citizens from terrorist attacks. It showed that the Taliban can target any place anywhere throughout the country.

The Nation Action Plan is the need of the hour. It must be implemented in letter and in spirit to counter terrorism.
