PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday transferred and posted Saqib Raza Aslam as the new deputy commissioner of Peshawar.

Mr Aslam, a PMS official of BS-19, was working as director land records at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Revenue. He would replace Shahid Mehmood, a PAS BS-18 official, who had been acting as additional deputy commissioner of Peshawar.

The post of the deputy commissioner had fallen vacant following the transfer of Riaz Mehsud in December, last year.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Rescue Services (Rescue 1122) has promoted two officials to BS-19. According to a statement, Dr Khateer Ahmad and Dr Mohammad Ayaz, who were working as deputy directors for administration and operations, respectively, have been promoted and made directors.

A ceremony to this effect was held at the 1122 headquarters, which was also attended by the secretary relief Ahmed Hanif Orakzai.

On the occasion, Mr Orakzai appreciated the efforts of Rescue 1122 officials in provide relief to people in distress.

Rescue 1122 DG Dr Asad Ali Khan said the organisation had put in place a service structure in relatively short span of time after its conception, under which the first promotions were made.
