BANNU: A suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into a police station building in Bannu district on Tuesday, causing injuries to two constables.

The banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.

DIG Mohammad Ali Gandapur told reporters that the attacker struck his vehicle into the main entrance of the Mandan police station at around 5.15am. The explosion caused damage to the building.

The injured policemen, identified as Mudassir and Alamdar, were taken to the district headquarters hospital. The DIG said that about 25kg explosives were used in the blast, adding that parts of the bomber’s body collected from the site and sent for DNA test showed that he was about 22 years old.
