MARDAN: Police officials have been allegedly using non-custom paid (NCP) and stolen vehicles in Mardan district.

In this regard, Mardan district nazim Himayatullah Mayar has recently written to the chief secretary, home secretary and inspector general of police, seeking their intervention and necessary action against the police personnel allegedly involved in this ‘illegal’ act.

According to the letter, a copy available with this correspondent, the police officials had been allegedly using non-custom paid and stolen vehicles, including cars and motorcycles since long.

However, a DSP rejected the report as allegations levelled against the police force of Mardan. He said that DIG police (Mardan region) Mohammad Ijaz Khan had clearly warned his subordinate police officers that he would lodge an FIR against them if they were found using any NCP or stolen vehicle.
