PESHAWAR: The North Waziristan Agency political administration on Saturday allegedly rescued a girl from being killed for honour on Saturday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jaghra had directed the political administration for prompt action as the girl was expected to be killed by her relatives for honour.

The rescued girl was shifted to a shelter home in Peshawar, according to a statement issued from the Governor House here.

The governor had taken action on a letter sent to him by Chairperson Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Zohra Yusuf on Friday.

She had mentioned in her letter that a man had already been killed on December 5 in this connection in Druzanda village of North Waziristan Agency.
