KARACHI: Pakistan Super League Chairman Najam Sethi on Saturday predicted that India will play against Pakistan at the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy in England despite the BCCI’s threats not to do so.

In an exclusive talk with Dawn News, Sethi said that PCB has made it clear to the International Cricket Council (ICC) that in case India does not play against Pakistan in the 2017 mega event “we will demand full points of the game.”

“As much as 20% of the ICC event’s revenue will be generated through Pakistan-India game and ICC too realises the importance of this match,” said Sethi.

“The Indian Government may not allow BCCI to play against Pakistan in the event. But since India lost 6 points recently for not playing the bilateral series against us which was part of ICC Womens Championship, the BCCI cannot afford such a thing in an important tournament like the Champions Trophy,” explained Sethi.

Sethi also disclosed that most of the foreign players are refusing to come Pakistan for the PSL final in Lahore, but the PCB is trying its level best to convince them and will provide highest level security to them.” .

“But in case the final is not possible in Lahore then it will be held in Dubai like last year.”

Sethi added that the PCB earn 2.5m dollars from inaugural edition of PSL and now they eyeing 3m dollars profit.
