LAHORE: Muzammil Murtaza won both singles and doubles titles in the First Sonex Junior Tennis Championship at PLTA tennis courts here on Saturday.

In the boys singles’ final Muzammil outplayed Aman Atique 6-1, 6-0 to win the first title. Then Muzammil with Abdal Haider won the doubles’ title defeating the pair of Aman Attique and Sahibzada Muhammad Ali 6-2, 7-6.

In girls singles’ final, Shimaza Tahir carved out victory against Noor Malik 6-2, 6-3 to earn the title with Mohammad Shoaib beating Nalain Abbass 6-1, 6-3 in the final to win the title in U-14 boys final.

In U-12 event, Sami Zeb defeated Hamid Israr 8-2 to earn the honour while Hamza Roman outclassed Hamid Israr 8-2 in the U-10 final.

Later, Muzammil said that he came to Lahore after one year to play the championship and was delighted after winning two titles.
