KARACHI: Four die in accidents

KARACHI, Dec 16: Four people died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

A young man died in a road accident near Shorab Goth. Police said that Syed Matloob Abbas, 35, was crossing the main road near Shorab Goth when an Hyderabad-bound bus knocked him down.

The eyewitnesses said that the police shifted the injured in a taxi to the hospital and apprehended the errant driver. But they later allowed him to flee from the spot.

In another road accident, an unidentified elderly man was knocked down by a speeding taxi near the Drig Road railways station.

On late Sunday night, a young man died when a speeding minibus knocked him down near the Teenhati bridge.

Athar Ejaz, 22, was crossing the road when the minibus of route (W-11) hit him. The victim died on spot.

In another accident, a teenager was crushed to death beneath a locomotive near the Landhi railway station. Police said the young victim could not be identified.—Staff Reporter
