HARIPUR, Dec 9: A woman was killed when she accidentally received a gunshot in village Kharhala Khanpur here on Monday evening.

Police said Zubair, son of Khani Zaman, of village Kharhala upper Khanpur was cleaning his 12 bore gun when it went off accidentally and a bullet hit his sister Shazia, w/o Mohammed Pervez, injuring her seriously.

She was taken to a hospital but died on her way. It was reported that Shazia had been living with her parents for the last two years because of strained relations with her husband.

In the second incident, Samia 18, a resident of Mohalla Qaisarabad Railway station, tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself in the stomach with a dagger over a matrimonial dispute with her father.

She was admitted to a hospital where her condition was reportedly serious due to loss of blood.
