Fahim likely to meet Benazir in Dubai

ISLAMABAD, Dec 6: Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy Chairman and People’s Party Parliamentarians President Makhdoom Amin Fahim is likely to visit Dubai to discuss the prevailing political situation in the country with Ms Benazir Bhutto, a source told Dawn here on Saturday.

The source said Mr Fahim would visit Dubai after attending a public meeting at Mochi Gate in Lahore on Sunday.

He said Mr Fahim would get fresh advice from the party chairperson regarding launching of the proposed protest campaign against the military government and future relations with the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

He said Mr Fahim would be back in the country by Dec 12 as he would be presiding over a crucial meeting of the heads of the ARD component parties in Lahore on Dec 13. He is also expected to attend a public meeting in Gujranwala on Dec 14.

Mr Fahim, the source said, would brief Ms Bhutto on the latest developments in the

country and about his meetings with the MMA and the Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders.
