KARACHI: Chairman DMC South Malik Fayyaz distributes prizes among the kids who won their bouts at the Defence Day boxing event.

KARACHI: Muslim Azad Boxing Club won the District Municipal Corporation (DMC), Karachi South, Defence Day Boxing Championship here late on Thursday.

The Kemari Boxing Club finished as the runners up in the championship which was contested at the Kikri Ground Stadium. The third position in the tournament was secured by the Young Baloch Boxing Club.

As many as 66 boxers participated in the tournament. The winners in various categories were Bilal Qambrani, Aman Qambrahi, Faisal, Bashir, Shahroze, Nabil, Yousuf, Nijat Ali, Sajid Rasheed, Muhammad Younus, Imad Hussain.

Chairman DMC South, Malik Fayyaz, was the chief guest and distributed the prizes among the winners. MPA from Lyari, Ms. Sania Naz, Chairman UC 12 Habib Hassan and Director Sports South Asif Azeem, were also present on this occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Fayyaz said that the event was organized to pay tributes to the great soldiers who sacrificed their lives on Sept 6 during the1965 war. He said that the DMC South would continue to promote sports events in order to provide healthy recreational opportunities to the youngsters and hone their talent and skills.
