SHEIKHUPURA: Environment department’s anti-dengue squad was beaten up allegedly by two junkyard owners in the Dalah Chanda Singh locality on Friday.

The raiding team, led by department official Naeemul Haq, raided two junkyards and found a large number of old tyres there. When the team tried to impound the tyres, a dozen of people, led by junkyard owners Parvaiz and Aslam, attacked the raiding party and injured two of its members.

Later on, the team was forced to flee from the site.

RECOVERED: Thirty-five motorcycles, a car, Rs3 million cash and gold ornaments looted or snatched during robbery incidents have been handed over to their owners by District Police Officer Sarfraz Virk in a press conference.

The DPO said police teams had arrested a dozen of highway robbers and dacoits and recovered the booty from them.
