KOHAT: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani on Tuesday inaugurated the border check posts in Torghar and Kurram Pul areas near Kurram Agency and Waziristan Agency in Thall tehsil of Kohat division.

The check posts were established to check the movement of militants, suspected Afghan nationals and tribesmen, and control smuggling.

The check posts will be manned by well-equipped police personnel round the clock.

The IGP said all needs of the policemen deployed at check posts would be fulfilled.

He said the check posts would serve as the first wall of defence against militancy and criminals.

Mr. Durrani said criminals used Kohat division from tribal areas to enter KP as there was no alternative route for it.

He distributed ‘Eidee’ cash and sweets among the policemen deployed at check posts.

The IGP praised the KP police for fighting terrorism courageously to protect public life and property in the province.

He said he was hopeful that the police would keep a close watch on militants and criminals wanting to cross over into Kohat division before penetrating further into KP.

Mr. Durrani later met police personnel and visitors in Thall Bazaar.

He also issued orders for the immediate resolution of the people while asking policemen to do duty diligently.
