KARACHI: Bounce Club overwhelmed Gulshan Hawks by 56-31 points in the final to win the Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Ramazan Cup basketball tournament at the Arambagh floodlit court on Saturday.

Contrary to the league matches that were contested fiercely, the final fell short of expectations.

The winners led 31-10 at half time.

Bounce were aggressive from the word go and finished the first quarter at 14-2. They maintained the same pace winning the second 17-8 to strengthen their position.

Gulshan Hawks combined their act together and gave a tough time to Bounce as play resumed in the third quarter.

The winners, who enjoyed an edge over rivals, lost the third quarter 12-16 only to bounce back and rounded off the match winning the fourth and the last quarter 13-5.

Zia Ahmed was the architect of his team’s triumph scoring 16 points and was supported by Hassan 11 and Atif Nawaz seven.

Though Saifullah of the Bounce Club was emerged as highest scorer of the final with 17 but could

not help his team win the clash.

Mahad Tariq was the other player to finish in double figures with 10.

Zia was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant score of 16.

A day earlier, Nishtar Club seized third position by default when their opponents Neighbourhood Club failed to turn up for the play-off.

Saifullah of Gulshan Hawks was declared Man of the Tournament.

He scored 62 points in the competition.

The top three teams received a meagre prize money of Rs5,000, Rs3,000 and Rs2,000 respectively at the prize distribution that followed the final besides small amounts for every Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament.
