MINGORA: Police arrested a man in Manrrai area of Matta tehsil here on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in terrorist acts.

According to Matta police, Behramand, a resident of Manrrai, was wanted by law enforcement agencies for his anti-state activities during the Swat insurgency from 2007 to 2009.

He was arrested by counter-terrorism department of police on a tipoff in Manrrai village. He was shifted to an unspecified location for further investigation.

Matta tehsil was a stronghold of Swat Taliban where they had established their own courts, police stations and punishment cells.

Meanwhile, security forces demolished a house of a wanted militant at Dherai village in Kabal tehsil. According to local sources, security forces demolished the house of Suleman, who was allegedly involved in facilitating target killers and militants.
