Civil War was influenced by psychological thrillers. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo were influenced by films like Seven, Fargo, and The Godfather, which like Civil War, features multiple characters and story arcs.

The airport fight scene between Team Captain and Team Iron Man was by far the toughest to shoot, according to the directors. It took almost a year of preparation and was shot on IMAX cameras.

Don’t expect Civil War to be totally heavy and serious. Joe and Anthony have directed award-winning comedies like Arrested.

Spider-Man also appears in the movie but how? Well, the answer is Marvel sold Spidey to Sony quite a long time ago, and they made five movies with him (the three Tobey Maguire movies and the two with Andrew Garfield), but last year, the companies announced that they had come to an agreement to share the character, meaning that he could be part of these big Marvel event movies. Civil War is the first movie since the deal, so it’s the first one with our new guy Tom Holland as Peter Parker.
