KARACHI: Mohajir Qaumi Movement or MQM-Haqiqi chairman Afaq Ahmed on Monday called for a dialogue between his party and the rival Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for the 'resolution of issues faced by Mohajirs'.

Addressing a press conference at his residence, the MQM-H chairman said that he is ready to resolve all issues with Altaf Hussain led-MQM and his party for the greater cause of peace between Mohajir community.

"They can come any day here but if their ego or policy does not allow them to come here, we can send our delegation to Nine Zero to resolve issues facing Mohajirs across the country," said the Haqiqi chief.

Ahmed, however, refused to comment on the latest arrival on Karachi's political scene, the Mustafa Kamal-led Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) formed by MQM defectors.

"Look, keep me away from this topic as no one can speak against Pak Sarzameen," he told reporters.

MQM-Haqiqi chief's statement comes a month after workers belonging to the rival parties clashed in Lines Area and North Nazimabad while electioneering for PS-115 by-polls.

The two parties have a history of clashes since the latter's formation in 1992.

Between 1992 and 2002, the residents of Karachi's middle-class income neighbourhood especially Landhi, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony and Lines Area became used to hear the term “entry”, which referred to one party’s attempt to reclaim its erstwhile stronghold.
