PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leadership to step up the reorganisation process to strengthen the party in all districts.

This was stated by PPP provincial secretary information Liaquat Shabab while speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Friday.

He said that committees had been formed at the district and divisional level in the province to resolve differences among workers and announce new office-bearers on the basis of fresh membership.

About the replacement of sitting president Khanzada Khan, he said that for the time being there were no chances of any changes at the provincial level as the reorganisation process at divisional level was in progress.

“The party affairs are fast improving and rifts have been resolved,” Mr Shabab said. He went on to say that a proper procedure would be followed to bring changes in the leadership at the provincial level.

About internal differences in the party, he said that all the annoyed workers had joined hands with the provincial leadership and now there was no rift in PPP at the provincial level.

“We appreciated the disgruntled workers time and again for supporting the provincial leadership in the process of party’s reorganisation,” he said.

Mr Shabab said that the party leadership was determined to resolve all differences among workers and claimed that PPP would re-emerge as the largest party in future elections.

He urged the workers to take active part in the reorganisation process in their respective localities, districts and divisions to brighten chances of winning the future elections.

Meanwhile, workers of the Peoples Youth Organisation and Peoples Students Federation on Friday held demonstrations against the federal government for allowing former president Pervez Musharraf to leave the country and asked Nawaz Sharif to seek an apology from the nation.

The PYO activists, who had gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club, also urged the federal government to admit failure and step down.

PYO leaders Sajjad Hanif, Sajid Ali and Malik Niaz spoke on the occasion. They said that Musharraf was facing many cases in different courts, and alleged that the federal government had allowed him to flee the country under a deal.

PSF leaders Essa Khan and Mohammad Umer also condemned the PML-N leadership and said that Nawaz Sharif had always preferred bargaining to principles.
