QUETTA: Two `attackers’ were killed and a policeman was injured in an exchange of fire in Sariab road area late on Thursday night.

According to police sources, SHO Amin Jaffar of Sariab police station was patrolling the area in his official van along with policemen. Gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on the van, injuring a constable. Police chased the assailants and fired back, triggering an encounter.

Both attackers were killed in the shootout. The bodies were taken to the civil hospital.

The injured constable, Imran Khawar, was admitted to hospital.
