KARACHI: A Chinese engineer was wounded in what police described as ‘incidental firing’ in the Defence area on Wednesday.

Defence SHO Yasin Gujjar said the engineer, Yung Chang, received a single bullet in his abdomen as the pistol he was ‘playing’ with inside his vehicle went off.

His guard, Atif, had gone to the office in DHA phase-II at the time of the incident, the police officer said.

He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was admitted, the SHO said, describing Mr Yung’s condition as critical.
