CHARSADDA: A student was killed when students of a private school clashed in Nissata area of Charsadda on Saturday.

The reason for the clash was stated to be heated exchanges.

The police registered the case on the complaint of Jamdad Khan, father of the deceased, Shahzad Ali.

The complainant said his son was going home after school timing when fellow students Wajid and Abbas Ali fired gunshots at him instantly causing his death. The local residents later blocked the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway by placing the body on it.

They dispersed only after Nissata police station SHO Taimoor Khan showed up and assured them of the early arrest of the suspected killers.

The police later raided the houses of the suspects.

One suspect, Abbas Ali, fired at the police before trying in vain to flee.

The police shot him in the leg and caught him injured.

They also seized his gun.

The police later arrested the other suspect, Wajid.

TWO BROTHERS KILLED: Gunmen killed two brothers and injured three people, including a police driver and a cabbie, over a dispute on the cutting of trees in Shabara area here.

The police registered the case on the complaint of the injured, Chiragh Shah. The complainant said the suspects fired gunshots when he along with a police mobile and a taxi showed up. He said the firing left Rahim Shah and his brother Rehman Shah dead and police driver Mohammad Ayaz, cabbie Imtiaz and him injured.

The police registered the case against 13 suspects, including Zahid, brother Karim, Tilawat Shah, Mirza and Amjad, and began raids in the area to arrest them.

However, no arrests were made by night.

MAN KILLS STEPMOTHER: A man killed his stepmother in Tarnab area of Charsadda.

The police registered the case on the complaint of Adil, son of the slain woman.

The complainant said he was on the way to Peshawar along with mother when his stepbrother, Zohaib, opened fire at them killing his mother on the spot.

He said the suspected killer fled after the firing.

The police said they had begun investigation after registering the case.
