Website review: Rewordify

AS we grow old, our studies also become more advanced; the texts which used to be easy when we were kids change with every passing year. The subjects and language also get advance keeping in mind the grownup readers’ intellectual level. We all know that language has its levels from easy and beginners level to the complex kind for the grownups.

However, not all of us can easily grasp what we read. There are always some phrases, words or paragraphs that cannot be deciphered easily, thus we end up taking help from dictionaries and this is where Rewordify (www.wordify.com), comes in handy.

Rewordify is a free online reading comprehension software which helps you understand what you read or the text that you couldn’t grasp because of the complex vocabulary used in it. The website is simple with a few tabs for making the text easy for you. Just paste the difficult sentence, paragraph, article or (you can also enter a website URL), that you are having difficulty in understanding in the yellow box and press “Rewordify text” below the box.

There you have it —the easier version of the complex text with a few highlighted phrases/words. You’ll be glad to see the difficult words change into easy English. While the highlighted words indicate more explanation that you may need to understand, click them and see their definition and listen to their pronunciation.

Additionally, on top of the easier text version, the tabs “stats’, ‘share’, ‘print/learning activities’ and ‘parts of speech’ appear. The ‘stats’ will give your ‘original’ text’s analysis including word count, syllable count, sentence length, etc., while you can ‘share’ your work with others but only after registering here.

One of the greatest options here is the ‘Parts of speech.’ If you click it, your text is highlighted with several different colours indicating different parts of speech. A great help to many children and grownups in understanding grammar in a text.

Rewordify helps people read, understand and learn what they want to read, on their own. So if you dislike dictionaries because they’re confusing, you’ll love Rewordify.com’s clear, easy-to-understand definitions — they change to match the original word or phrase’s part of speech, verb tense, and singular/plural form, so they make sense.
