Bring awesomeness to your presentations!

THE end of the year and the end of the term or semester in most schools and colleges is also near, so you will be busy preparing for exams, making assignments and presentations.

Most of you may have been using PowerPoint for presentations but some may have been searching various other tools to create something unique that is different from the rest. For such purposes, PowToon — an amazing yet free animated presentation tool may come in handy.

Basically, PowToon has the interface and options to spice up the traditional slideshow presentation. You will find tools that are easy to use, with loads of attractive stock images and animations to make professional-looking presentations. The site maintains to have cleaner interface easy to work with. All you have to do is sign up and then start making the presentation. You are given the option to either choose from the various ready-made templates available or start from scratch.

While there are many styles available, it is literally not possible to go into their detail here, you just have to choose the free ones as others are for the paid members.

After choosing the style, a separate window opens with the right side panel containing image library with figures, props, backgrounds, speech bubbles and the animated figures (you can also use your own images or backgrounds from your computer). You can also choose slide transitions, animating text options, sound, etc., from the right side panel, while the bar on the bottom is the slide timeline, where you can scroll through all of your animations and images in the order they appear.

There are a couple of cool options also available here. For instance, the site allows you to put animated gifs into your presentation that animate constantly on the slide. While another is ‘transitions’, pretty fun to play with especially using the ‘hands’ for entrance/exit effects. These effects can make your presentations really exciting to watch.

When finished, you can upload or share your presentation via various social media links or save it on your PowToon dashboard.
