PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a militant from the outskirts of the provincial capital.

A statement issued here identified the accused as Bakht Jamal, resident of Akakhel area of Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency.

It said that Jamal was arrested from Mattani Bazaar on a tip off, adding that he was involved in attacks on police personnel back in 2009, wherein several police personnel were injured.

The statement said that the KP government had announced Rs500,000 for arrest of the militant.
