KABUL: Afghan officials say two employees of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission were killed by a roadside bomb that struck their vehicle in the eastern Nangarhar province.

Commission spokesman Rafiullah Bedar said six other employees were wounded in the incident, which took place Monday morning as they were heading from their homes to the office.

Hazrat Hussain Mashreqiwal, spokesman for the provincial police chief of Nangarhar, says the vehicle was hit near the commission's office in the provincial capital, Jalalabad.
