Prayer leader killed

KASUR: A prayer leader was shot dead in Khara village in the limits of Saddar police station here on Thursday.

Qari Fazal Husain of Bahawalpur was the prayer leader at a mosque in the village. On Thursday, Husain took two unidentified guests to his room adjacent to the mosque. After a short time, the guests shot him dead and escaped.

Husain was a member of the district peace committee also.

Police sent the body to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy.

BOOKED: Pattoki Saddar police registered a case against a prayer leader on charges of spreading sectarianism at Gohar Chak 8.

Police arrested Maulvi Ahmed Hasan for allegedly managing wall chalking in the village against another sect.
