The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced that it has withdrawn Aleem Dar from the remaining matches in the ongoing India-South Africa series over security concerns.

The ICC made the decision following Monday’s incident in Mumbai where a group of activists of India's far-right political group Shiv Sena attacked the headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), just before Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan was to meet BCCI chief Shashank Manohar to discuss a bilateral series in December.

Shiv Sena had also threatened to stop Dar from officiating in the fifth and final ODI between India and South Africa to be played in Mumbai on Sunday.

“Under the present circumstances, it will be unreasonable to expect from Aleem that he will be able to perform his duties to the best of his abilities. As such, he has been withdrawn and his replacement will be announced in due course,” an ICC spokesman said.

Aleem, a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, had officiated in the first three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and was also scheduled to umpire in the fourth and fifth ODIs in Chennai and Mumbai on 22 and 25 October, respectively.

Earlier today, Sena activists crashed through the gates of the office in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, which serves as the headquarters of the BCCI, to disrupt a meeting of BCCI and PCB officials.

The activists shouted anti-Pakistan slogans and held posters that read 'Shahryar Khan go back', determined to stop Manohar from meeting his Pakistani counterpart.

The protesters entered Manohar's office and crowded around his desk, shouting slogans and demanded that the Indian chief cancel talks with PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan that were planned in Mumbai on Monday.

Who's next...Imran Tahir?... Please tell us Shining, Digital, Secular, Open minded, democratic India?...

hassan Oct 19, 2015 08:36pm

South Africa should cancel their tour of India.

Why is India allowed to get away with all this? Pakistan should refuse to send its players to India for 'evaluation' of their bowling actions etc etc.

think_then_speak Oct 19, 2015 08:37pm

Siv Sena and RSS look more prominent than BJP. India the biggest democracy has turned into the biggest theocracy.

ga Oct 19, 2015 08:40pm

India is playing with fire. Country of that size going fascist will not be good for the world. I hope secular India takes a stand.

Ahmed Shaikh Oct 19, 2015 08:40pm

World's largest democracy showing her true colors, sorry to say but India is nothing but a society of self-righteous bigots ready to pounce at every opportunity to defame Pakistan but unable to acknowledge her own social malaise.

Satt Oct 19, 2015 08:40pm Pakistani should set foot in Maharashtra.Read my words MAHARASHTRA not in other parts. They can happily go in any parts of India.

Harmony-1 Oct 19, 2015 08:41pm

Modi’s Shiv Sena wins again – congratulations!

Warrior Bin Qasim Oct 19, 2015 08:41pm

What is the difference between Shiv Sena and Taliban? NOTHING!!

Pakistan Oct 19, 2015 08:41pm

This should be enough reason for ICC to ask South Africa to leave and cancel all left games and return Home. I am talking about International Cricket Council not about Indian Cricket Council working in India.

Khizer Oct 19, 2015 08:42pm

It seems Shiv Sena has taken control of BCCI, officially.

Khurram jadoon Oct 19, 2015 08:43pm

@Satt OK read and IGNORED!

Curious mind Oct 19, 2015 08:43pm

This is a law and order problem. Why can't they stop these goons?

Nisar Oct 19, 2015 08:45pm

What a joke, this is open rasism, Pak should take this up with the ICC, and if not answered, approach higher bodies. You cannot have this situation, where players/officials of a certain country are banned because of their home countries, Pak can say the same thing that alot of terrorist activities in Pak are due to RAW involvement, so please grow up.

sheraz Oct 19, 2015 08:47pm

its getting better and better for muslims of india as they decided to live in india at the time of partition .... but i am hopeful of another pakistan rising from the borders of india again if BJP remains in power for next 10 to 15 years

Varun Oct 19, 2015 08:47pm

Extremely embarrassing given the stature of Dar. Apologies from a common man Sir. These goons do NOT represent us.

Taimoor Khan Oct 19, 2015 08:48pm

India is modi-fied. Enjoy!

Prateek Oct 19, 2015 08:49pm

I think its a good decision for security reasons.

Valar Morgulis Oct 19, 2015 08:49pm

It's a monumental policy failure of India by bowing down in front of extremist elements. Instead of condemning and making efforts to weed out such paranoia, by bowing down to their hollow threats India is only giving them impetus to get mainstream momentum. What if this kind of act was done in Pakistan? Or South Africa, Sri Lanka or West Indies for that matter? I appreciate the response of sane voices from India who are condemning Shiv Sena, at the same time India must come out of his colonial mindset.

shm Oct 19, 2015 08:53pm

Can't they find some Shiva Sen umpires whenever India plays?

Satt Oct 19, 2015 08:53pm

Shiv Sena is not against Cricket or Muslims, they are against Pakistan. They say no jolly relationship with Pakistanis whether it is cricket or something else.Just now people of Mumbai has contributed money for operation of Pakistani girl so its not hate

Sam Oct 19, 2015 08:53pm

No sure if India is heading in right direction under Modi's leadership.

Dr. Salaria, Aamir Ahmad Oct 19, 2015 08:53pm

What a serious joke? And they are bent upon calling themselves democratic, unbiased, neutral, open-minded, equitable, non-partisan, impartial even-handed and what have you?

Jag Oct 19, 2015 08:54pm

@hassan ..who is going to be at loss?

Seine Oct 19, 2015 08:54pm

By and by the real face of India being exposed. Keep up the good work Shiv Sena, the world has decided to look the other way. Might is right, rule of the world.

Ghazi Oct 19, 2015 08:55pm

We as a responsible nation should understand the consipiracy of fascist and fanatic hindus who plan to prove world India is no more secular country and is for hindus only. In Pakistan although we have handful religious people who may have desire like that but this type of events have never happened in our country and their opinion has never supported at government level.

Rahul Oct 19, 2015 08:57pm

We in India hate Shiva sena...they are nothing but a nuisance...and the Indian people know this. Even after being a strong party in Mumbai for more than 50 years, shiv sena hasn't been in power for the last 16 years. Till now they've only had 2 of their members as chief ministers of Maharashtra The last shiv sena chief minister of Maharashtra was way back in 1999. Since then we haven't voted for them ever. I think we should ban them. Even though they haven't killed anyone but their stupid actions are bringing disrepute to India and Indians who are otherwise living harmoniously. Barring exceptional incidents, but that happens in every country of the world.

Rahul Oct 19, 2015 08:58pm

@Harmony-1 - Shiv sena isn't Modi's party.

Jawad U Rahman Oct 19, 2015 08:58pm

Had it happened in any country other than the big three, ICC would have stepped in and penalized the local board by stopping future visits to the country till they get the hooligans and terrorists in control.

Imran Qasim Oct 19, 2015 08:59pm

ICC to BCCI. Secular India. ha ha

Valar Morgulis Oct 19, 2015 08:59pm

@Satt What about Imran Tahir? Should he be informed ahead of 'TIME'?

billal Oct 19, 2015 09:01pm

its sad to see the growing intolerance of India ........

Haroon Oct 19, 2015 09:02pm

What are ICC's comments of the tour? Should they be taking Aleems side or Indian side?

Modi Fail Oct 19, 2015 09:02pm

I want to hear opinions of sane voices from India and their reaction on it. Quite frankly, this is not the solution to the problem in my opinion. This is giving way to such instances in future with more fervor.

Riz Oct 19, 2015 09:03pm

If South Africa keep winning soon ICC will have to pull the whole team out of India. Let's see if ICC move World T20 to another country. I bet if this would be happening in Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka news would have already been circulated that World T20 will move to another country.

Modi Fail Oct 19, 2015 09:05pm

@Rahul You don't support them which perhaps is good in the larger interest but when Govt. bow down to their hollow threats like that, it only gives them more impetus. Even if they are not in power, they're getting things done their way. What's your honest opinion on that? Isn't Govt. policy wrong in that regard? Isn't Govt. equally responsible for this sudden mayhem because they are the one in power and control?

Tota Ram Verma Oct 19, 2015 09:08pm

@Shaka Seth , imran tahir and hamish amla are most welcome as they are south african citizens.... shiv sena have issues with pakistanis...

Harmony-1 Oct 19, 2015 09:08pm

@Rahul - Affiliated. Same difference!

Laiq Oct 19, 2015 09:08pm

@Rahul Dear Mr. Rahul. You are the only Indian so far we may call sensible. What happened to your democracy. Is this democracy?

F S Oct 19, 2015 09:09pm

And why are they being called activists and not extremist???/

khurram Khan Oct 19, 2015 09:09pm

When cockroaches enter your kitchen, you just don't stop cooking instead U just get rid of the cockroaches by using different measures. In this case, Indian Govt should take some steps to stop Shiv Sena instead of taking temporary measures. Also some Indian friends are suggesting that Pakistanis should not visit Mumbai and other cities where Sena is strong. What kind of message, you guys are giving in regards to "Mera Bharat Mahan". Where at some particular place, some particular nationalities are not allowed. Are we still in the stone age? I am not sure, how India Govt on official basis still claims India as "Secular" country. Think again!!!!

Faiz Khilji Oct 19, 2015 09:09pm

@Shaka Seth Not only Imran Tahir, but Hashem Amla and Farhan Beherdein as well.. And you know WHY???

Shame on ICC for not taking any action..

A. Ali Oct 19, 2015 09:10pm

so that's india for you with great pleasure. am sure those who were blaming Pak to hide Dawood now should say what ? they are officially holding and patting worst people on back to do such ugly incidents.... then who is spreading unrest in the name of sports as well ?.

PCB went at length to revive this series, but Indians are adamant in not playing us owing to non conducive situation ?... India should compensate for cowardly running out of this series, even at neutral venue...

Indians are becoming security threat to entire SE Asian region now... pelted stones on SAF players when India lost. they burnt part of Calcutta stadium when Ind lost to SL world cup 96 semi finals.

International teams should think twice before touring India... shambolic scenes already witnessed in this SAF tour and this ugly incident leaves no room for Pak to play with India... Indians have breached the contract they must compensate the grieving party.

hitesh Oct 19, 2015 09:10pm

Govt must act against Shivsena...they are not doing any goos for the country

khurram Khan Oct 19, 2015 09:10pm

@Satt Think before U say something my brother. U r not living in stone age? I am sure you must be an educated person.

Ravel Oct 19, 2015 09:12pm

I am from Pakistan. Our media is only showing one side of the story in one perspective. Congress has condemned this stone age thinking portrayed by Shiv Sena activists. The thing is that violent people although in minority always get the attention than the peaceful factions. But one thing is clear, as compared to PCB which is like a semi-autonomous institution, BCCI is not at all autonomous.

AXH Oct 19, 2015 09:12pm

@Rahul - You completely missed the point. Shiv Sena may not be the "same" party as BJP but it practices the same ideology as BJP and there is no denying it. Additionally, the Modi government has not taken a firm stand against Shiv Sena on latter's antics.

Arshad A Patel, West Chester, Ohio, USA Oct 19, 2015 09:14pm

@Shaka Seth

Hashim Amla ? Although from Gujarat (India) but quite a few of his relatives live in Pakistan and also he is a Muslim who is not a vegetarian.

sunset Oct 19, 2015 09:14pm

@Shaka Seth Imran Tahir? Well He's not a Pakistani he's South African.

salman khan Oct 19, 2015 09:15pm

come on! icc “Under the present circumstances, it will be unreasonable to expect from Aleem that he will be able to perform his duties to the best of his abilities." say something else...he can perform well..but indian extremist are threatening him..why not say like this

sohail khan Oct 19, 2015 09:15pm

Why they are still called activists and not extremists?

Anas Oct 19, 2015 09:15pm

The maturity of the average cricket fan in India and the people who represent them are clearly visible by these actions. The actions portray the hatred these people have for their guests - appalling behaviour

Harmony-1 Oct 19, 2015 09:16pm

@Rahul - So, it's BJP's ideology wing and affiliated. Is that better?

Saeed Masood Oct 19, 2015 09:16pm

This is a warning to the Cricket World...this VIP treatment with India must stop. Otherwise it will cost the world very heavily

ali Oct 19, 2015 09:17pm

Another muslim state within India in making.

Harmony-1 Oct 19, 2015 09:19pm

@Tota Ram Verma - But why? We are nice people too, you know!

Adnan Siddiqui Oct 19, 2015 09:20pm

@Rahul .. Is it really just Maharashtra ? .. Apparently not ... Aleem dar was suppose to officiate 4th and 5th ODI which are in Chennai and Mumbai on 22 and 25 October, respectively. He was removed from both which gives one of the following message: 1 - He is not secure in Chennai either OR 2 - Yes Shiv Sena, you are right - he should not officiate anywhere in India.

salman khan Oct 19, 2015 09:21pm

@Warrior Bin Qasim you are 100% right and all the bollywood actors and indian hindu people are supporting shive sena.

Adnan Siddiqui Oct 19, 2015 09:21pm

@Satt ... He is removed from Chennai ODI too .. so its not just Maharashtra !

Sarwar, USA Oct 19, 2015 09:22pm

Its for sure big three was a fraud.. It should be revisited. A country so intolerant as India should not be in decision makings and as for UN security council permanent seat.

Jawad U Rahman Oct 19, 2015 09:22pm

Looks like England, South Africa, Australia, Zimbabwe will all have to rethink their visits to India. They will not be able to play in Mumbai - thanks to at least one of their players' ties with Pakistan. If you let extremist run your sports, this is the outcome.

Naxalite Oct 19, 2015 09:22pm

ICC did what Shiv Sena couldn't do. Hats Off!

Azi Oct 19, 2015 09:26pm

So ICC STILL doesnt really see a threat to cancel matches, after threats to its umpire and the ruthless crowd desecrating the field upon loss. Its only when RSS/ shiv sena actually goes on a shooting spree will they treat it equal to other countries. It just goes to show how deeply biased this entity has become. These days sports are a political game much less a physical one.

Kashif Oct 19, 2015 09:26pm

It seems illogical that Indian government can't do anything to stop these hypocrites

syed wasim haider Oct 19, 2015 09:31pm

Do not spoil the image of India, Indian cricket.

Asif Jamil Oct 19, 2015 09:32pm

These fanatics should be stopped from their nefarious activities as they are bringing a bad name to India. It is a good that they are only in Maharashtra. A stitch in time saves nine, nip them in the bud. Learn from our experience in Pakistan where fanatics were tolerated for too long.

Modi Fail Oct 19, 2015 09:35pm

@sunset He's a 'Pakistani' in Indian streets. Like Mohammed Akhlaq was before he was lynched.

Md Sarfaraj Oct 19, 2015 09:38pm

Enough! We should not take any insult here onwards. Please come back.We will get less money than indian cricketers, so what? We will play against Zimbabwe in Abudhabi, so what?whole world is insulting us due to this.

Rufi Oct 19, 2015 09:38pm

We have been saying all along Hindu extremist are people who are full of hatred not only for Muslims but Dalits, Sikhs, Naxalites, Buddhist and so on. Now you will see ICC's double standard at its best.

PAATCHU Oct 19, 2015 09:39pm

Aleem Dar is a professional. He is a good umpire. Shiv sena should not do this!

Jawwad Oct 19, 2015 09:39pm

One billion extremists will not be good for the world in general. We are already having trouble here in Pakistan with few thousands.

8-Pass Charlie Oct 19, 2015 09:41pm

@Shaka Seth Good comment

GK Oct 19, 2015 09:42pm

As an Indian, I am deeply embarrassed and frankly, ashamed of the inhuman treatment meted out to Mr. Dar and Mr. Kasuri. The people will throw out these Shiv Sena Hooligans in the next elections. Talibanisation of India by these goons will not be tolerated.

Apologies once again to my Pakistani brothers and sisters.

PAATCHU Oct 19, 2015 09:43pm

@Ahmed Shaikh Ahmed bhai..You have to understand one thing, Mumbai has seen more atrocities of the Terrorists than anyone else. 1993- Train blasts, 26/11..etc. So this is a natural reaction. INDiA is so big.. there are other places and other people who don't have this much aggression

Jawwad Oct 19, 2015 09:44pm

India does not need Pakistan as an enemy. And frankly I am glad it will give a much needed break to our intelligence agencies.

NB Oct 19, 2015 09:44pm

The most respectful umpire I have seen ..... Respect for you @aleem dar!

k k tiwari India Oct 19, 2015 09:44pm

Regrettable but obvious act. We have great respect for Aleem Saheb, ,Few fanatics are spoiling cricket & cultural activities .

Farooq Mughal Oct 19, 2015 09:45pm

Being a patriotic Pakistani, I wish India also to be stable and free of extremist elements, as it would be good for Pakistan and vice versa. But, the extremist group are calling the shots in Modi's India, its very disturbing, and regrettable.

Arshad A Patel, West Chester, Ohio, USA Oct 19, 2015 09:46pm

@Tota Ram Verma

His name is Hashim Amla and he is a Muslim.

The Hawk Oct 19, 2015 09:46pm

This is what we call "Secular" and world's largest democracy...

AJ Oct 19, 2015 09:52pm

This is reason enough to cancel all matches in India under the auspices of the ICC.

azkhan71 Oct 19, 2015 09:53pm

What a shameful act...this is what India claims to be the world's largest democratic country. After this act of Shiv Sena, ICC should cancel all the current and future cricket series in India. But unfortunately, that will not happen.

True Indian Oct 19, 2015 10:04pm

This is really embarrassing that we cannot stop bunch of goons like shiv sena.

Shahid Akbar, New York Oct 19, 2015 10:04pm

"Shining and Rising India." Ha!Ha! Modi may be the last Prime Minister of India on the current map.

Rahul Oct 19, 2015 10:04pm

@Laiq - We're a population of 1.2 billion. I'm sure you'll many more like me. No one votes for their party and they're getting neglected. So they're just doing all of this for some political attention. They're acting like children. But to be honest, splashing ink on someone's face is any day acceptable than assassinating someone.

Zain Oct 19, 2015 10:07pm

Pakistan should recall SK from bombay immediately and inform icc about its reluctance to participate in next year world cup and ask for its relocation to sri lanka or England

Canada Oct 19, 2015 10:09pm

Seems like terrorism by hindu fanatics is a serious concern. Govt seems conveniently silent on the matter. I wonder if Obama will call India a terror sponsoring state now.

zafar Oct 19, 2015 10:12pm

Indians r daily making fun of themselves lol

John Oct 19, 2015 10:21pm

@Adnan Siddiqui You are something special, man.

Aleem Dar has been withdrawn from Chennai game because ICC believes that as a result of the threat from Shiv Sena, for the Mumbai game, Aleem Dar is in a lot of stress and therefore, he may not be able to perform his job in Chennai (due to the stress). Read the news carefully before you form an opinion and comment.

Arif Oct 19, 2015 10:21pm

Pathetic and they call themselves "Secular".

Satt Oct 19, 2015 10:22pm

@khurram Khan I am educated thats why I know the reality,Maharashtrians don't want any jolly relationship with Pakistani's atleast in cricket and they are clear about that.

Danish Oct 19, 2015 10:23pm

@Naxalite Please elaborate.

satya Oct 19, 2015 10:26pm

@Harmony-1 modi has nothing to do with sev Sena

KUMAR Oct 19, 2015 10:26pm

Shiv Sena is group of extremist hooligans, they do not represent the whole nation. Aleem Dar is one of the best umpires in the World, he should not have been treated the way Shiv Sena did. The so called Shiv Sainiks are just politically motivated but the worst thing is the Central Govt or the State Govt are not able to suppress their ill motivated agendas that bring a bad name to the entire nation. Sometimes I feel ashamed for having voted for BJP.

Ahmed Oct 19, 2015 10:29pm

This is crazy, ICC is being held hostage by Indian Fanatics

ak Oct 19, 2015 10:31pm

Aleem is an excellent umpire and a thorough professional. He knows the decision is for his safety and as any good employee, he will do as the employer deems fit. What's the big deal ?

Sab Se Pehle Pakistan Oct 19, 2015 10:31pm

Well then how do you expect Imran Tahir, Hashim Amla or any other sportsmen belonging to a particular community to perform in India then. This is open discrimination. South Africa was banned from international cricket when they refused to play with certain people. Then why there is different treatment for India. India should be banned from International cricket as well.

Expat Oct 19, 2015 10:32pm

@Prateek the best decision would have been to cancel the rest of the matches, who is next, Tahir, Amla.

Zakir Khan Oct 19, 2015 10:33pm

Coward ICC. Why do they need to pull Aleem Dar out of the game They should instead stand up to this hooliganism and support its official and provide him the security he needs to officiate the match. If the stadium has to be emptied for that to happen, so be it.

If the game cannot be held peacefully in the city of Shiv Sena Hooligans then relocate the match to another city so that the match can go on peacefully. I am sure Dubai can also be an ideal site for India to host its game, if required.

Pakiot Oct 19, 2015 10:38pm

That's the face of secular India... this was bound to happen.. India's policy should include self improvement rather then blaming neighbours for every thing.

PHILOSOPHER (from Japan) Oct 19, 2015 10:42pm

They don't deserve a Good Umpire. Kokulrani was right for them.

Zain ul Rafi Oct 19, 2015 10:45pm

Well there is a saying in Urdu "a bad fish pollute entire pound", Feeling sorry for Indian. There are good and bad people on both sides. But we have to blame the government, if small racist group started to make impact. its ruling party failure.

Ozair Oct 19, 2015 10:48pm

Shiv Sena is as dangerous as the Taliban, we should drone them ;)

Ansir.khan Oct 19, 2015 10:51pm

Is'nt Shiv Sena a Hindu version if ISIS or Al-Qaeda. One wonders why a free, democratic & secular world not declaring it a terrorist organization?

AXH Oct 19, 2015 10:57pm

@PHILOSOPHER (from Japan) - You made my day!!!

M Akram Oct 19, 2015 11:08pm

For ICC read BICC. ICC and Indian authorities are displaying open racialism. Does ICC charter permit it take to this action on racialist ground as Shiv Sina Indians are objecting to a Pakistani empire. Can you imagine Pakistan baring and English umpire.

As far as SATT is concerned who would want to visit MahaRAWsh..RAW, SATT can have all to himself.

So thank you Quaid-i-Azam for Pakistan. We have all the ills of the world and our own people wish to do nasty things to us and even kill us but at least free to eat what we like, say what we like, think what we like....

shahid Oct 19, 2015 11:14pm

Terrorists are wandering openly in Mumbai. It is really amazing!

Nadeem, USA Oct 19, 2015 11:17pm

ICC is India still the safe place to play. What a double standard.

Ansir.khan Oct 19, 2015 11:17pm

There seems to be a menacing radical shift in the news emanating from India. Has this extremism been brewing in India for a while or is the Modi led BJP government fueling these extremist organizations? Either ways, a radicalized, polarized India is something no sane person wishes to see. Lets hope sanity has the final say with the majority of Indians.

Ali Oct 19, 2015 11:18pm

It seems BCCI is ruled by Shiv Sena because under their influence India is not playing cricket with Pakistan or perhaps BCCI is terrorized by Shiv Sena!

After the HQ of BCCI attacked and open threats to International umpire (Dar). All the cricket loving countries should reconsider; Is India a safe venue to play international cricket?

what about T20 WC? ICC should form a committee to propose a new venue for T20 WC since Pakistani players are under serious threat by Shiv Sena!

Laiq Oct 19, 2015 11:20pm

@Ozair.. You are spot on. Well said

Monal Oct 19, 2015 11:20pm

“Under the present circumstances, it will be unreasonable to expect from Aleem that he will be able to perform his duties to the best of his abilities. As such, he has been withdrawn and his replacement will be announced in due course,”

No, DON'T pin it on Aleem Dar. He is very capable of performing his duties. The same cannot be said for BCCI/ICC.

Sameer Javed Oct 19, 2015 11:20pm

Its really shameful that such things are happening and ICC is turning a blind eye towards it just because they're happening in India. Pulling back an umpire is not the solution, they should take bold steps in ensuring that sports should not be influenced by Political agendas. Shiv Sena is nothing but an extremist political party.

John Oct 19, 2015 11:20pm

@Zakir Khan Yes they should have relocated the game. That would taught a lesson to the people of Mumbai and they would have been encouraged to stand-up to Shiv Sena. At the end of the day, that action would have punished the people of Mumbai and they deserve it for not doing anything about it.

Fareed (usa) Oct 19, 2015 11:26pm

Never believe a word what India or Indian press says. Since Modi of BJP came in power, he has ignited & stroked spirit of Hindutve - simple translation, India for Hindus, convert to Hinduism or live as 2nd class citizen.

M.Saeed Oct 19, 2015 11:35pm

If ICC behaves subservient to India, world must ban ICC and create its own cricket regulatory body devoid of India. Current incidents prove beyond doubt that, attack on Sri Lanka team in Lahore was also a nefarious work of Indian agencies.

M.Saeed Oct 19, 2015 11:44pm

It should be the duty of ICC to compensate Aleem Dar for his loss of remunerations and mental agony for no fault of his own.

ali Oct 19, 2015 11:50pm

Well done ICC. Why not cancel the whole series and see what happens. Look what you did to us after sri Lanka team attack. You stripped us from world cup matches. What's happening in IPL and it's still going.

Awais Oct 19, 2015 11:55pm

India, the biggest hypocrisy of the world !!

prabhjyot singh madan Oct 19, 2015 11:57pm

Crazy party , bjp lost another vote in the the next general election for granted. Rab Rakha.

ali Oct 19, 2015 11:59pm

@PAATCHU People like these have no country, no religion. They like power and money and they will do anything for it. May be its just a show off. What if they are working with Pakistan and creating all this trouble in mumbai

Arshad A Patel, West Chester, Ohio, USA Oct 20, 2015 12:02am

Sir, we can say the same for Karachi and the blasts and outside involvement goes as far back as late 1970's.

prabhjyot singh madan Oct 20, 2015 12:04am

I prefer Ganghiji's India any day. So much for shining and modified India. The people of west Bengal will withwash bjp and I hope so do the people of Bihar in the just concluded election. Modified India hogwash, nightmare for mother India. Rab rakha

Ghalib Oct 20, 2015 12:08am

Pathetic ICC rather then cancelling the tour they are pulling out their Match official What message are you giving to the world

saqib Oct 20, 2015 12:09am

This is a joke, since when has the world started listenning to terrorists.

Expat Oct 20, 2015 12:09am

@Rahul if u guys hate shev sina, then do something about, shev sena has a tacit approval of the modi government.

thinkaboutit Oct 20, 2015 12:10am

A huge shame on ICC for opting for money over principle. The so-called big 3 can go take a hike.

Kamran Oct 20, 2015 12:17am

Why international cricketers don't come to Pakistan and still go to india? Is it acceptable to have hatred against one country or people originally belong to a country? Would ICC take notice and ban international cricket in india? Definitely not. Why? Because it is Indian Cricket Council Not International. Biased prejudiced and unfair.

Riaz Oct 20, 2015 12:22am

Shiv Sena raise a lot of question about T-20 Cup,march 2016.ICC need to think about it or change venue.

Imran Q Oct 20, 2015 12:25am

Stupid ICC should ban Mumbai for all type of cricket

Riaz Oct 20, 2015 12:26am

Aleem Dar is the best and most respectable judge in today cricket.

Sam Oct 20, 2015 12:31am

ICC is now Indian Cricket Council

khara aur karwa such Oct 20, 2015 12:32am

@Imran Q

People of Mumbai need some state agency to get rid of the Shiv Sena mafia. They need to look to their western neighbors for a success story in Karachi.

Jawad U Rahman Oct 20, 2015 12:34am

This is why cricket will die and soccer/football will flourish. Look at FIFA - much richer than ICC, but no big 3 and no India to bully the rest. There are 200 countries which happily participate in the global tournaments, and all get equal treatment and support from FIFA.

bahulayankk k Oct 20, 2015 12:35am

No cricket match with pakistan

khara aur karwa such Oct 20, 2015 12:39am

ICC seems to be lacking spine. Instead of holding on to its decision, it took no time buckling under pressure from a notoriously fundamentalist Hindu outfit. Have some courage, ICC.

khara aur karwa such Oct 20, 2015 12:44am

Pakistan Cricket Board should vigorously pursue the issue at all appropriate forums. Mumbai should be banned from hosting any international sporting event till the menace of Shiv Sena is neutralized.

Ahmed Shaikh Oct 20, 2015 12:44am

@PAATCHU i hope what you are saying is true brother but in recent days i have seen nothing but hostility from your country. Your media blames pakistan for everything bad happening in india. Whenever i read timesofindia i find nothing but hatred for pakistan in their comments section. Just look at dawn editorials, it always portray both sides of the picture.

John Oct 20, 2015 12:48am

@PAATCHU Well said.

Laiq Oct 20, 2015 01:11am

@Rahul.. Dear Rahul. I do not know who r you refering to @ assisinating some one. Please umderstand that Pakistan is the only country that has and that is the biggest victim of Terrorism. We hate terrorism much much much more than you guys do. I really condemn any terrorist attacks on India but also keep in mind that we have faced 100s 26/11 in Pakistan and the worst form of 9/11 in Peshawar in which we lost our beloved brave students. But is this the way a so called democratic country India treat all its guests? Whether they are Pakistanis, Australians, Nepalese, South Africans, Srilanks etc? Atleast whatever negative happens in Pakistan, each and every politician condemns any form of insulting acts unlike PM Modi. Brother trust me PM Modi is the biggest curse on India. He will divide India very soon. And if I am not wrong, leave alone Muslims accept the fact Sikhs aint happy. At the same time you people say India is the biggest democracy and dearer with its minorities???

Khan- Pakistani Oct 20, 2015 01:25am

Why not pull every civilized country's team out of India and push Indians to create a safer and non hostile environment for all cricket loving nations !

Indian Oct 20, 2015 01:28am

As an Indian, I'm alarmed at the direction my country is moving towards. Secularism is dwindling and intolerance towards fellow human-beings is on the rise. This specific incident is the result of a small group of narrow-minded politicians and uneducated citizens who resorts to violence in the name of (fake) patriotism.

Saif Oct 20, 2015 02:09am

Status: Modi has everything to do with RSS. If someone believes otherwise he is living in fools paradise. Modi is actually one of them.

Mo Oct 20, 2015 02:23am

Against any other team ICC would have cancelled the tour. But this is India they can do whatever.

dawn Oct 20, 2015 02:24am

That is Modi's India. India of the future.

JHK Oct 20, 2015 02:25am

If it was any other country with indian umpire being brought back. BCCI would have asked and ICC would have cancelled the rest of the remaining tour. -- i say it with > 95% probability.

German Philo Oct 20, 2015 02:31am

shame on so called biggest democracy of the World. I didn't find any strong reaction from its citizens either

Neeraj Oct 20, 2015 02:50am

Aleem Dar is a good empire! Shiv Sena sucks! They have hijacked Mumbai!

Akil Akhtar Oct 20, 2015 03:40am

Indians seem to be far behind in evolution of a civil society. Its only 67 years since the Hindus have taken charge, it will take another hundred years to learn how to behave internationally.

Jag Oct 20, 2015 04:19am

@Zain ...good luck with that...

Moeed Ahmed Oct 20, 2015 04:34am

Is ICC getting dictation from India or not??

Xeishan Oct 20, 2015 04:54am

@Varun appreciate it and apology accepted

Waseem Sarwar Oct 20, 2015 04:59am

Why can't Indian forces stop 50 activists? It looks like they didn't wanted to stop them.

Steve Oct 20, 2015 05:06am

@Pakistan "This should be enough reason for ICC to ask South Africa to leave and cancel all left games and return Home. I am talking about International Cricket Council not about Indian Cricket Council working in India."Not happening.Any which way you look at it,India decides what happens in world cricket. Too bad,so sad.

Rohail Oct 20, 2015 05:23am

Not surprised at all. Let's see where India will lead towards. Pakistan has finally realized and getting rid of extremism with support of people. Let's see what Indians do. This will destroy India and will be even worst than what we have seen in Pakistan in last 10 years. Finger crossed!

Azhar Hussain Oct 20, 2015 06:43am

@Varun And Modi does represent India

fawad Oct 20, 2015 07:17am

@Rahul standing for principles is fine with me..protest is the right of every citizen of the country..issues should be in open and be addressed in between people and governments but that the life must go on is the key..

Fez Oct 20, 2015 07:19am

Why pull Aleem Dar instead of canceling the tour since BCCI cant guarantee the security of foreign visitors.

fawad Oct 20, 2015 07:20am

@Asif Jamil but its is good that we are through with fanatics..let the Indians take the stroll down this road and learn for themselves..

fawad Oct 20, 2015 07:22am

@Jag at the end and much else..

Just-Wondering Oct 20, 2015 07:52am

Shouldn't Pakistan forget everything about Cricket and any other relations with India?

Sosa Oct 20, 2015 08:13am

Earlier Pakistani players were the victims of Indian plots and now Pakistani umpires being forced to leave this game. It appears that ICC is operating under BCCI. He should have been provided with extra security and not kicked out.

hellowworld Oct 20, 2015 08:49am

@GK : As long as we have people like you on both sides of the border, I am sure idiots like Shiv Sena are you going to be successful, It is almost hilarious to be honest. It is another sad day on our history.

Guleri Oct 20, 2015 08:59am

By the way have you seen Shiv Sena's leader, he is a treat to watch

Bharat Kumar Jaiswal Oct 20, 2015 09:15am

@Shaka Seth Shiv Sena is not against Muslims, they are against Pakistan

Karachiites!! Oct 20, 2015 09:18am

Shame on ICC!! Big Failure by ICC in front of Big Three..never understand are Big three IND,AUS,ENG are happy to play against each other only????

Archisman Mozumder Oct 20, 2015 09:34am

@Satt . So a state/province (Maharashtra) is more important than the nation? And we Indians proudly proclaim that we a integrated country of diverse cultures? Baffling!

Archisman Mozumder Oct 20, 2015 09:41am

@Satt - Aleem Dar is a very capable umpire. India, despite its hysterical cricket fans (that includes me too) has not been able to able to produce a single umpire of merit in the ICC panel for well over a decade. A good umpire will ensure a good game. A good game will ensure a full house at the stadium & hence revenues for the state of Maharashtra (my state too).

So how does Aleem Dar earn his livelihood? He is not a terrorist & neither has he connived with terrorist groups. Please appreciate that he is working for his employer, the ICC. How does he refuse an assignment of his employer? Does he have to relinquish his citizenship now?

Ashutosh Pandey Oct 20, 2015 09:47am

Because 'Hindu'stan..Jai Bharat

Tahir Oct 20, 2015 09:49am

Despite icc of cancelling the tour it expelled its own empire. What a great justice!

blunt Oct 20, 2015 10:06am

Had this been in Pakistan, the ICC would have decided to end the tour prematurely instead of pulling one of its officials.

Hypocrisy at it heights.

cmh Oct 20, 2015 10:45am

ICC should suspend India for six months and put it under observation .

singh18 Oct 20, 2015 12:36pm

Sorry Mr. Dar. Only few unwanted men embarrassing to my country.

Syed Oct 20, 2015 12:41pm

@Ahmed Shaikh very true well said Syed

Dean Oct 20, 2015 01:17pm

Well done India you have just made a utter fool of yourselves. So what next when England plays India will you start crying if Moeen Ali and Adil Rasheed will play??? Think it time The ICC stopped playing cricket in India until they sort their own problems!!!

MB Oct 20, 2015 01:23pm

Now where the hell is ICC??? Why is ICC not banning International Cricket in India after so many riots???

Indian Oct 20, 2015 03:33pm

Considering the present situation and current circumstances in India, ICC should cancel this tour and postpone t20 world cup to any other secured nation. Its really painful to see the current India. Here not only Pakistanis are unsecured but the whole Muslim community is unsecured under BJP government. Its getting worse day by day. BJP will support anything which is against muslims. Its unbelievable that ICC is not commenting on this issue. Aleem Dar is on India not as a Pak player but as an ICC official. If India cant secure an ICC official then how they are gonna give security to a whole national team or 10 to 15 teams on t20 worldcup. Its really painful to say but its the fact that ICC should label India as an unsecured nation coz its getting more worse on coming days.

byju Oct 20, 2015 03:53pm

riots? these are small but nevertheless avoidable incidents.

ron white Oct 20, 2015 09:42pm

Hello south African here. India should be stripped of hosting any ICC events until terrorism issues and elements are dealt with. Its a disgrace that an umpire cant officiate a game because of the country he is from and players and commentators being targeted. Not to mention the recent ODI between the 2 sides.

Who? Oct 20, 2015 10:27pm

Hope it is a paid leave for mr. Dar

Jag Oct 21, 2015 02:55am

@Neeraj ...Indian here...when Sivasena say that Aleem Dar can't officiate in Mumbai?

iftikhar Oct 21, 2015 02:00pm

@Pakistan may be india doing all this to win series with the help of local umpires and commentators. wasim and shoaib akhtar also spared from commentry after aleem dar

iftikhar Oct 21, 2015 02:11pm

@Prateek just a pretext.they have to win series. in the presence of neutral umpire and commentators they can't do so
