ISLAMABAD: Defending champions Army, Wapda Navy and Air Force after winning their matches here at Hamidi Hall advanced to the semi-finals of the 13th edition of National Kabaddi Championship on Monday.

Reigning champions Army defeated PAF 52-34 and Police 46-7. Army’s Waseem Sajjad and Nasir Ali shone.

In the first match of the day, PAF overpowered police with huge margin of 62-16.

The lopsided contest lasted for 40 minutes. PAF’s Mohammad Mustafa, Faizan Ali and Abid displayed excellent skills.

Whereas, Navy defeated Wapda 47-18. Raja Akram and Wajid Ali were top point scorers for Navy.

Wapda had to work hard to overcome Railway as the former won the match 49-36.

Atif Hussain, Mohammad Ali played main role in the victory of their team.

In the last fixture of the day, Navy crushed Railways 44-21. The semi-finals will be played on Tuesday.
