KARACHI: An improvised explosive device was found on the roof of a Gulistan-i-Jauhar house on Sunday, police said.

They said that Hidayat Masih, the owner of the house in Chishti Nagar near Kamran Chowrangi, informed the police that his son went to the rooftop to feed the pigeons when he saw a bottle attached to a battery. He alerted the other family members and neighbours, who informed the police and bomb disposal squad.

Inspector Fakhrul Hasnain of the BDS said that it was a ‘bottle bomb’, weighing over half a kilogramme.

He said that the BDS managed to “defuse the bomb remotely”.

SSP-East Javed Jiskani said that the police were investigating the case.
