Sangeeta is back where she belongs: making films! Last week the noted film director announced at a press conference that she’s making a film titled Tum Hi To Ho, for which filming has already begun in Karachi. Luckily, the project doesn’t have the tried and tested Lollywood cast (Meeras, Reshams, Reemas et al). Rather, it features the young pair of Danish Taimoor and Qurutulain.

The other good thing about the press briefing was that apart from introducing her cast to the media, the director also introduced her director of photography (DoP) Khalid, who is well-known in the Lollywood circles.

After the presser this writer struck up a conversation with him in order to find out as to how the DoP has adjusted to the modern-day requirements of filmmaking (the transformation from 35mm to digital, etc). The reply was worth noting down: according to Khalid sahib, nothing much has changed because the DoP is essentially dealing with human beings and their surroundings. If anything, technically, he says, things have become easier for cinematographers.

Well, he seems to have a point, though some might not agree with it and keep harbouring the notion that working with a green screen is magic.
