TIMERGARA: The councillors of Pakistan People’s Party, Awami National Party and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F on Saturday protested against the ruling parties for only allowing their own councillors to distribute free seeds and fertilizers among farmers.

They were demonstrating outside the office of Samar Bagh tehsil nazim.

Addressing the gathering, ANP district councillor Qazi Inam ul Haq, tehsil councillor Abdul Rashid, village council chairman Dost Rehman, peasant councillor Ghulam Akbar, JUI-F Lower Dir general secretary Syed Awar Khan and others lamented being discriminated against by the ruling parties.

They said only councillors affiliated with the ruling parties distributed 50 kilogram of wheat seed and a bag of fertilizer among farmers of Munda and Samar Bagh tehsils.

They criticised PTI chief Imran Khan for failing to implement his slogan of ensuring transparency, justice and merit in government affairs as ruling parties were benefitting their own workers.

Samar Bagh nazim Saeed Ahmad Bacha held talks with leaders of the protesters and assured that their complaint would be addressed.

The nazim said that seed and fertilizer would be distributed through elected councillors of all the parties without any discrimination.
