Various teams of the city’s administration, under the supervision of assistant additional commissioner Abdul Sattar Isani, examined 39 outlets, including factories preparing bakery items, stores and restaurants in G-10, F-8, G-8 and I-10.

Of the 39, seven outlets were sealed and fined Rs260,000. Seven people were also taken into custody for further legal action.

The outlets include the Bakeman Factory in G-10, Triway Food Factory I-10, the Bismillah Meat Shop, Kiani Poultry Shop F-8/3, and Rahat Bakers 1-10.

Fines were imposed on Habibi Restaurant PWD, Ox & Grill Bahria Town, Al Madina Hotel, Habibi Golden Hotel, Mashallah Hotel, Umer Makers and Store, Happy Well Food, the Jamil Sweet Factory, Madina Meat Shop F-8, Naeem Qureshi Meat Shop F-8, Ghulam Hussain Meat Shop, Hazara Poultry Shop and Yasir Meat Shop.

Action was taken against those involved in the use of substandard, expired, or unhygienic materials, the officials said, adding that underage workers were also employed in factories, and low wages were given to many employees.
