VEHARI: Two brothers were executed at district jail on Wednesday morning after the president turned down their mercy appeals.

Muhabbat Ali and Muhammad Bashir were convicted of murdering two brothers Muhammad Yunus and Muhammad Yusuf by hitting them with wooden logs over a property dispute in Gaggo police precincts in 2001.

District and Sessions Judge Ghaffar Jalil had issued their death warrants on Sept 4.

The jail officials said bodies were handed over to the family.
