LAHORE: Politicians of various shades have taken strong exception to MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s recent speech and termed it against Pakistan and its armed forces.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Mr Hussain’s remarks had proved that he was working for the enemy. He said MQM leader’s speech had proved that action in Karachi by the Rangers was 100 per cent justified.

He said the remarks against the brave forces of the country had exposed the real face of the MQM chief and that the nation would never forgive this so-called leader who had sought help from India.

Shahbaz Sharif said the MQM chief had hurt sentiments of 200 million countrymen, including those who migrated to Pakistan, and that he would have to face its consequences.

Punjab CM says MQM chief remarks prove that he is working for the enemy

Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Senator Sirajul Haq said Mr Hussain’s invitation to Nato forces and India was due to utter desperation.

He said the utterances against the country and its institutions had fully exposed Mr Hussain and called upon the government not to remain silent on these remarks. He demanded Mr Hussain’s repatriation and trial by courts.

Mr Haq urged the government to lodge a strong protest with the British government on Mr Hussain’s conduct. He deplored that Britain had provided protection to `absconders’ and was allowing them full freedom to spread hatred against Pakistan and its institutions.

The JI chief urged the people of Karachi to take notice of Mr Hussain’s outburst, saying the MQM chief had begun a campaign to malign the country in the name of Mohajirs.

Pakistan Ulema Council chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi accused the MQM chief of playing the enemy’s game in Pakistan but said such conspiracy would never be allowed to succeed.

He said the national flag would be hoisted on all religious schools on Aug 14 to show love for the country and hatred for anti-Pakistan thoughts
